If i send a mail of 3MB from Gmail and if at the receivers end opened in outlook ... it shows 4MB mail..WHY?

It could be just how it's rounded. Gmail could round down and Outlook could round up. If the email was 3.56MB, depending on the math in the programming of the email client, it could round down to the first whole number, or up to the next whole number.
