How do u add a gmail contact without sending an invatation to join gmail?

I tried to add some1 but it kept trying to send an invite??!??
How do u add a gmail contact without sending an invatation to join gmail?
Send an email to your friend. It would automatically include the email in your contacts.
Reply:Just go to Gmail and you'll see CONTACTS and at the bottom it says add contacts.
