I got a gmail account but it still wont let me send the file it said its an exe file what do i do?
This might work I know I used to do it to send programs through email which had .exe

First you need to make sure your settings are right on your computer. Go to the file you want to send and see if it says .exe at the end of the file name, if it doesn't you need to do the next step

I am using vista at the moment so it may be slightly different if your using xp

Open up something like my computer or recycle in a window, then click on tools then open folder options.

click on the view tab then untick box next to "hide extensions for known file types" option

Now go to the file and change its file name from .exe at the end to .txt

example picturefile.exe to picture file.txt

It will then probably ask you to confirm the rename

Now you should be able to send it

Note that when it has been renamed when the file is opened it will just open a text file, which may take a while to load/open.

To get the program/file to work again just rename it and end it with .exe or whatever it ended with originally

The person who your are sending the file to will have to then rename the file back

example picture.txt to picture.exe

The reason email accounts do this is for security to stop viruses/trojans etc from executing if sent through email

Hope this helps
Reply:You cannot send or recieve executables, whether you send them as a .exe or if you zip/compress them in any way.
